Brief description about the DEEP project

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) aims to implement innovative energy efficiency technologies and deploy large scale implementation of energy efficiency measures in the PAT industries. Together with Energy Efficiency Services Limited, BEE plans to bolster PAT industries by creating an ecosystem, which not only provide support in meeting their allocated Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) reduction targets under the PAT scheme, but also support market transformation for innovative technologies and bring substantial investment in this endeavour.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has a vast experience in the implementation of large-scale energy efficient projects through innovative financial models and demand aggregation. BEE and EESL with their collaborative approach and expertise have designed this project to implement innovative technologies and deploy bespoke package of energy efficiency technologies in PAT industries.

Under the first phase of the DEEP project, EESL will demonstrate nine innovative technologies in about 27 Designated Consumers (DCs), which have not been commercialized on a large scale and have the potential for energy efficiency improvement. Subsequently, EESL shall aggregate the demand for energy efficient technologies with an objective to reach out to the maximum numbers of Designated Consumers.

This will enable large-scale deployment of energy efficient technologies and usher in market transformation. The project also aims to create a self-sustaining mechanism for the upscaling of the energy efficient technologies in the PAT sector.
